چکیده
Following hatching, pre-elongated conceptuses undergo elongation by intense proliferation, until implantation. We investigated the changes in gene expression associated with these physiological events using human cDNA arrays containing 2370 known genes. Comparison of pre-elongated, elongated and implanting trophoblasts allowed for determination of 313 expressed genes of which 63 were differentially regulated. These were classified into 4 functional families. Preelongated trophoblasts were characterized by preferential expression of genes involved in protein trafficking, whereas only latter developmental stages expressed cell signaling genes and receptors. Among the 63 developmentally regulated genes, 4 exhibited the highest levels of expression (TMSB10, CTNNA1, NMP1 and CX3CL1). Each of them also represents a functional family and display a specific expression pattern. One of them, CX3CL1 (CX3C chemokine also known as fractalkine) is a chemokine which seems of potential importance for trophoblast development and which will deserve further clarification of its exact role in the context of implantation.

متن کاملcDNA microarray analysis of bovine embryo gene expression profiles during the pre-implantation period
BACKGROUND After fertilization, embryo development involves differentiation, as well as development of the fetal body and extra-embryonic tissues until the moment of implantation. During this period various cellular and molecular changes take place with a genetic origin, e.g. the elongation of embryonic tissues, cell-cell contact between the mother and the embryo and placentation. To identify g...
متن کاملIn vitro versus In vivo: Development-, Apoptosis-, and Implantation-Related Gene Expression in Mouse Blastocyst
Background: While mammalian embryos can adapt to their environments, their sensitivity overshadows their adaptability in suboptimal in vitro conditions. Therefore, the environment in which the gametes are fertilized or to which the embryo is exposed can greatly affect the quality of the embryo and consequently its implantation potential. Objectives:</stro...
متن کاملThe genes for the trophoblast interferons and the related interferon-alpha II possess distinct 5'-promoter and 3'-flanking sequences.
The genes for trophoblast interferons (IFN) bovine trophoblast protein-1 (bTP-1) and ovine trophoblast protein-1 (oTP-1) are expressed massively in the trophectoderm of preimplantation bovine and ovine concepti during the period of maternal recognition of pregnancy. These 172-amino acid IFN are closely related to the IFN-alpha II, a family of "long" IFN expressed in virus-induced leukocytes. Ge...
متن کاملO-30: Comparing Expression Patterns of Endometrial Genes in Implantation Failures and Recurrent Miscarriages with Fertile Couples Following ICSI/IVF Using in Silico Analysis
Background: To screen and diagnose patients with recurrent abortions and implantation failure after IVF/ICSI, differentially expressed genes of endometrium through DNA microarrays were monitored. Materials and Methods: Microarray expression profile of GSE26787 dataset from GEO database was used to analyze gene expression profiles of 15 endometrial biopsy samples- five from control fertile (CF) ...
